We’re going to inspect the vehicle front to back looking for any potential point of failure while on the rally and at the track.

We will also service the vehicle, and throw some stickier tires on there. The sport cups he has on there now are worthless!

We’re also going to throw the vehicle on our dyno and run it through some basic diagnostic tests with endurance and maximum performance in mind. We want to make sure that this vehicle lives up to it’s historic name.

In usual “giving” fashion, Lashway Motorsports and Superior Automotive Design both were in attendance as vendors and more importantly supporters of the cause.

“Both businesses enjoy giving back to the community” says Erik Bentley, Co-Owner of Lashway Motorsports.

“We’re all fortunate enough and blessed to have the opportunity to run elite automotive performance and design businesses at such a young age and to have people around us who love and push us to strive for more and more. Not all of these kids have that opportunity and we want to give it to them!”

Though the weather was a bit dreary, it did not keep more than 50 classic, import, and late model domestic vehicles and their owners from showing up.

Broward County Sheriff (BSO) Officers were also in attendance along with some of there unusual police cruisers – a brand new Dodge Charger and a Challenger completely outfitted in police drab.  A 10-second fox body mustang owned by a BSO officer was also there as part of their “Beat The Heat” program which promotes safe racing at the track, not the street.

The Coral Springs Fire Department also took part in some event demonstrations, cutting the roof off of a car to show the power and ability of the Jaws-of-Life cutting tool which they use to free passengers from vehicles involved in serious accidents.

All in all it was an excellent event for all parties involved. We’ll certainly be there next year!

We made large strides though; expanding to 5000 square feet, teaming up with Superior Automotive, adding a chassis dyno to the shop, and building some badass cars.

All in all it was a good year with a lot of stuff going on.

We’re all looking forward to 2012 and kicking more butt than ever.

Upgrades and changes to their facility have already taken place including new offices, more equipment, and of course more space to get more work done at a faster pace (without compromising quality of course!)

The total shop square footage is approximately 5,000- double the previous amount. The constant influx of work that both businesses are seeing, as well as other opportunities that have presented themselves made expanding an easy choice for both parties.

Among other upgrades, current plans also include about $100,000 worth of CNC machinery and custom exhaust manufacturing equipment.

There is no doubt that Lashway and Superior are out to change the way people think about custom, high performance automotive design and manufacturing!

This will be their 4th year attending this fantastic show.

Among other things, the guys hope to mingle with new companies, check in with old and current vendors, and check out some up and coming products they’ll want to carry in the new year.

After a few less-than-good meets at the Boca Raton Hooters, and after they gave us the “cold shoulder” a few times as far as parking goes, the guys from Lashway decided that they would look elsewhere to find an ideal location to host their monthly car meets.

They heard though a customer of theirs that the Bru’s Room Wings N’ Things located just east of the Sawgrass Expressway on Commercial Blvd was looking to host a monthly car show and shine at their location. The guys from Lashway met up with the owner, and over a few baskets of wings came up with what they believe to be an excellent event!

They’re going to call it the Lashway/Bru’s Room “Meet and Eat”. As always the event will be held on the first Sunday of every month at their Sunrise location.

Participants of the event now also have some REAL incentive to come out as Bru’s will be offering discounts on food and drinks to all meet attendees! The best part is they’ve offered to save us some spots right up front so everyone can actually enjoy their cars, and the restaurant!

We expect an excellent turn out during our next meet slated for December 4th, 2011.

Originally we we’re going to test a prototype 8.8 Ford Rear Swap on this particular vehicle, but time constraints and deadlines on this project had us looking for an alternative while the 8.8 kit continued it’s development on the bench.  We knew we wanted something beefy, something strong, and something we weren’t going to have to rebuild after a few hard passes. In comes Moser Engineering (http://www.moserengineering.com/) and Bob at Brute Speed (http://brutespeed.com/) to save the day.

We already knew that Moser offered a Ford 9″ housing that was equipped with the provisions to work with the torque arm style suspension found in our Camaro.  However, we would not be needing lower control arms brackets, spring perches, shock mounts or pan-hard bar brackets as those all had to be made custom at our shop.  So, I called up Bob @ Brute Speed and got the hook up.  Bob is a well-known Moser and ProCharger distributer and down right guru when it comes to these set ups.  I gave him a list of what we needed, and he did the rest.  2 weeks later and after a few restless nights, my pride and joy showed up at the shop.  Below are some specs and pics of the rear going into BackLASH.

Specs: Moser 9″ Housing with T/A bracket, Backbrace, Drain and Fill, Iron Center, 4.30 gears, 40 spline (yes, 40 spline) fun drilled and star-flange axles, 5/8″ Wheel Studs, unpainted
